Hope Conference 2019

The universal brokenness of sin creates a ripple effect of pain that often blindsides families and churches. Unfortunately, the Christian community is not immune to such struggles. Drug abuse, addictions, depression, questions about God’s love, power and presence — all can contribute to feelings of confusion and hopelessness. The Scriptures provide us with both the precepts and principles that assist us as we navigate through these crisis moments whether they impact you directly or those around you. Join us for a two-day event to equip you to deal with the brokenness in you or help those around you.

Speaker

Pastor Matt Morrell
Pastor of Fourth Baptist Church
Plymouth, MN

Matt was raised in a pastor’s home and graduated from Northland International University (B.A.) in 1998. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in 2002 and his Doctor of Ministry from Northland International University in 2010. During his seminary years, he served as the assistant pastor at Chisago Lakes Baptist Church in Chisago City, MN. In 2002, Matt became interim pastor at Chisago Lakes Baptist, becoming senior pastor after 10 months. He served there until May 2008, when he was called to Fourth Baptist Church. Matt and his wife, Kim, have five children.

Matt has spoken and taught in multiple venues at home and overseas, including ministry at Central Baptist Seminary’s Romanian campus and at Faith Baptist Bible College in Cochin, India.

“My pastoral priority and personal passion is preaching and teaching God’s Word to God’s people. I am convinced that the faithful exposition and application of God’s Word to God’s people is the only ministry paradigm that will bear fruit that remains. However history may evaluate my shepherding, may it be said that I fed the flock the pure milk and the rich meat of God’s Word!”

Space is limited, so please contact Pastor Luke to join us on Sunday evenings for this study.

Missions Sundays 2019

January 13 - February 3 will be Great Commission Sundays. These will be Sundays set aside to focus on the call to sow the gospel. Prayer Week 2019

Sunday, January 6, begins a week of prayer as we begin another year of ministry as a church. We are completely dependent upon God individually and as a church, so it is essential that we go to Him in prayer. Prayer week is a helpful tool to cause us to stop our activity and actively depend on God. Sunday morning we will begin prayer week by looking at Romans 10:1-4. In this passage, Paul shares his desire to see individuals saved and that leads him to pray to God. Prayer week will include expanded time on Friday (1/11) and Saturday (1/12) to come to the church building to pray, prayer time in community groups, a special Sunday evening prayer service, and different resources to encourage us to pray.

Ladies' Fellowship Evening - January 2019

Ladies, you have an opportunity for an evening of fellowship on Thursday, January 3 at 7 p.m. at church. Care to Share: share anything from a New Year's resolution to a testimony. Contact Vicky Hull for more information. Our Ladies’ Fellowship Evenings are a great way to encourage and edify each other in a more informal setting.
