First Baptist Church will be hosting a free workshop and seminar entitled “Marriage 101: Back to the Basics.” This course is for anyone interested in building a healthy marriage.
The seminar is free; however, there is a $25.00 cost per couple for the two mandatory workbooks (one each for husband and wife). Payment for the workbooks must be received on or before the workshop date (8/24). Checks can be made payable to First Baptist Church. Please note that anyone can attend the Saturday workshop without committing to the seminar.
We would prefer that you register online, but you may register as late as the Saturday workshop (August 24).
If you have any questions, please email our church office or call 262-334-9211.
Statistics show that couples who engage in at least 6 sessions of premarital counseling reduce the chance for divorce by as much as 25%.
Too often couples put off counseling until the situation is critical and they are merely looking for approval to divorce. Marriage 101 provides a preemptive option to potentially save the marriage.
Illustrative dramas prelude each DVD teaching segment & provide a reference point from which to learn. Thought-provoking discussion questions encourage dialogue between couples. The couple’s workbooks provide some valuable homework as well.
The course covers all aspects of marriage, including topics such as finance, intimacy, communication, and conflict resolution. Here is a detailed list of topics:
