Course Description

Statistics show that couples who engage in at least 6 sessions of premarital counseling reduce the chance for divorce by as much as 25%.

Too often couples put off counseling until the situation is critical and they are merely looking for approval to divorce. Marriage 101 provides a preemptive option to potentially save the marriage.

Illustrative dramas prelude each DVD teaching segment & provide a reference point from which to learn. Thought-provoking discussion questions encourage dialogue between couples. The couple’s workbooks provide some valuable homework as well.

The course covers all aspects of marriage, including topics such as finance, intimacy, communication, and conflict resolution. Here is a detailed list of topics:

  • Marital Expectations
Helps couples have realistic expectations about their relationship.
  • Communication & Emotional Intimacy
Learn to be an effective communicator, be an active listener and what it means to have true dialogue.
  • Personality Differences
Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves. Couples learn to embrace each other’s differences.
  • Conflict Resolution
Fighting fair, understanding the “real” issue, and forgiveness are a few of the points taught in this critical segment.
  • Spiritual Intimacy  1 + 1 = One
The Rosbergs help couples learn to develop spiritual unity and to overcome differences in family origins.
  • Relating with Money Part 1  Nerds & Free Spirits
Dave Ramsey uses humorous life lessons to illustrate the unique ways we view money and how to work together to make our money work for us.
  • Relating with Money Part 2 – Singles & Children
Listen to Dave as he explains the difference in how to deal with money as a single person and as a couple with children.
